The Person Behind the Work
Veteran. First Responder. Published Author. Expert Witness. Someone who believes compliance should be woven into your company's DNA — not bolted on when an inspector shows up.
30 Years. 200+ Businesses. Zero Fluff.
Annie Bodell didn't start in an office. She started on the front line — as a Firefighter and Paramedic in Massachusetts and Arizona — where knowing the regulations wasn't a formality. It was life or death.
Her compliance career began 30 years ago doing hazardous materials work on her days off from the fire department for Clean Harbors. What followed was three decades of hands-on work across aviation, mining, manufacturing, and transportation — including hazmat handling, waste management, and spill cleanup — industries where mistakes have real consequences.
Today Annie brings that same front-line, no-nonsense approach to businesses across the country — from Arizona to clients nationwide — helping owners understand what the regulations actually require, what the risks truly are, and how to weave compliance into the fabric of their company culture. Not just the minimum. Not just a checkbox. Something that actually sticks.
Between the two owners, Pinnacle Southwest brings 20 years of combined U.S. military service — Special Forces and Coast Guard. A lifelong commitment to duty, precision, and protecting others that carries into every client engagement.
Former Firefighter and Paramedic in Massachusetts and Arizona. When you've worked emergency scenes, you understand risk in a way no certification alone can teach.
Published mining safety author — covering confined space management and rescue, accident investigation techniques, and human factors in accident causation.
Retained in cases involving hazardous materials spills, confined space incidents, tanker rollovers releasing toxic chemicals, and complex accident investigations.
Has taught compliance and safety at the college level, directly and indirectly impacting 200+ businesses. Her goal has never been to train teams just to pass an inspection — it's to build the kind of safety culture where compliance becomes second nature.
A sought-after speaker on compliance, workplace safety, and leadership — with engagements at Boeing, Women in Mining, local chambers, and industry associations across Arizona and beyond.
The Person Behind the Credentials
Annie has been married to the love of her life for 16 wonderful years — together nearly 20. Her son, now 22, followed in her footsteps and serves as a Firefighter and Paramedic here in Arizona. She couldn't be prouder.
Away from work, Annie is deeply rooted in the Arizona equestrian and rodeo community. She's an avid barrel racer and former Cowboy Mounted Shooter, show jumper, and dressage rider — competing on her two Quarter Horses. Her household also includes an Argentinian Dogo, a deaf and autistic rescue cat, and Frankie B — a house-trained Silkie chicken rooster who has charmed everyone who's ever met him.
Annie is a passionate Alzheimer's awareness advocate and primary caregiver for her mother. She's also a lifelong classic muscle car enthusiast, drag racing buff, and loves working on her classic Novas. Sailing, kayaking, travelling, reading, and dancing round out a life lived — as Annie would say — full throttle.
